NETBALL clubs and associations throughout the district are being recognised for their community contributions through the 2017 Australia Post One Netball Community Awards.

Nominations are open for individuals, clubs and associations creating and supporting diverse and inclusive netball environments at a community level.

For a fourth year the awards are celebrating those who go above and beyond to ensure netball is an inclusive game for every skill and ability.

An Ambassadors’ Choice Award will be newly presented in 2017 with nine potential winners to be announced.

Australia Post chief customer officer Christine Corbett said the awards celebrated the true champions of the game.

‘‘We particularly want to recognise those who reach out to diverse groups, including multicultural and Indigenous Australians, socio-economically disadvantaged communities, people with disability and rural and regional communities,’’ she said.

‘‘Netball is a fantastic way to build healthier, more vibrant and more inclusive communities.’’

Nominations are available at and close midnight on Sunday, July 30.

Winners will be announced on Monday, August 28.
