GOLF croquet pennant was played at Rich River on Thursday, August 31, against Echuca Moama Green.

The Rich River team all played well, beating Echuca Moama eight games to four, 79 hoops to 57.

Russell Smyth was the best performer, winning all four games.

Fourteen players also enjoyed social golf croquet that day and two players won three games each with the winner of the day’s play being Lois Simon with a score of +10.

Fiona Larcombe was runner-up with a score of +7.

In Association croquet pennant played on August 23, Rich River section one lost the match, while section two won.

The results were reversed on August 30.

John Alstin was the winner of social association croquet played on August 26, with the runner-up being Mona Hewlett. John was again the winner on September 2, with Bev Somerville the runner-up.

The courts have been closed this week for maintenance.

Bowlers Arms

THE COUNTRY’S biggest bowling arm competition will take over Echuca-Moama on Monday.

Moama Bowling Club will host the annual three-day tournament where Victoria will attempt to claim its fifth successive National Bowlers Arms Championships title against four other states. Spectators are encouraged to come watch as the best of the best certified arm bowlers will be on show playing singles, pairs, triple and fours.

The first games will be played from 9.45am following the welcome presentations Monday morning.
