ECHUCA-MOAMA Cycling Club recently held its 2017 road championships with Samuel Eddy smashing the A grade competition.
The 16-year-old finished first in the road race at Trewins Rd climb, Moama, on Saturday with Kayden Jeffreys, 18, in second and Eddy’s brother Patrick, 14, coming third over the 52km track.
Twenty-five riders competed across four grades.
B grade winner, racing 42km, was Graeme Butcher, followed by Mick Davy as runner-up and Mark Dickson in third.
Russell Jeffreys made the winners podium taking out C grade, the 32km event, with Ray Hamilton in second and young Harry Shearer in third.
In D grade, over 22km, Darren McKemmish was the winner and Mick Ciavarella came second.
The time trial was raced on Sunday, September 10, along Mt Terricks Rd and saw 19 riders competing over a 10km distance.
A grade was again taken out by Samual Eddy, followed by Kayden Jeffreys in second and Chase Costello-Manning in third.
Mick Davy, Graeme Butcher and Steven Robson all made the B grade podium in that order, while Gary George finished first in C grade, Dave Oman as runner-up and Russell Jeffreys in third.
D grade winner was Darren McKemmish followed by Mick Ciavarella as runner-up.
The club championships presentation will be held on Friday, September 22, at 6.30pm at the Moama RSL.
