CAMPASPE Shire residents can begin planning their Queen’s Baton Relay experience with the street level route now available to the public.
Mayor Adrian Weston said the baton relay will start its journey in Echuca on Thursday, February 15 from the Echuca South Sports Complex, travel along High St to the port precinct and then to the Aquatic Reserve.
“Unique to our celebration will see the baton and baton bearer board a paddlesteamer along the Murray River before reaching the Aquatic Reserve celebration site,” he said.
After travelling 288 days throughout the Commonwealth, the Queen’s Baton will arrive onto Australian soil in Brisbane on December 24.
As the Queen’s baton travels the length and breadth of Australia with more than 3800 baton bearers.
