MEMBERS of the Back Nine golf course would like to invite the Echuca-Moama community to attend a meeting regarding the future of the Back Nine golf course.
The meeting will take place on Friday at 11am at the Back Nine clubhouse.
It is being held to discuss recent developments for the course, as well as the future plans of the club in regards to keeping the course operating.
All club members, as well as members of the community interested in becoming part of the future of the Back Nine, are invited to join the meeting.
Club vice president Jack Hewitt said it was an opportunity for the club to keep its members updated.
‘‘We are still committed to finding a way to keep the golf course open,’’ Hewitt said.
‘‘If we are going to be any chance of keeping it alive, we have to be able to show council we have the ability to run the course, which means we need to have a strong group of people together to show them we are serious.’’
The club was notified on December 12th that the YMCA was exiting their lease of the property early, with the council not intending to take control and operate the course.
The course is currently scheduled to be shut down in late January.
