Murray River Adventures launched on the beach at Apex Park Cohuna on Wednesday and will bring kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards to the Murray River and Gunbower Creek.

A NEW type of water sport has landed in Cohuna.

Murray River Adventures launched on the beach at Apex Park Cohuna on Wednesday and will bring kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards to the Murray River and Gunbower Creek.

Murray River Adventures is an eco-tour concept of Sydney Harbour Kayaks and director Shannon O’Brien has brought his fleet of Australian made kayaks and canoes to Cohuna.

“Gannawarra Shire is truly blessed to have many world class waterways within its boundaries from Murray River to Gunbower Creek and Lagoons, Kow Swamp and all the Kerang Lakes,’’ Mr O’Brien said.

‘‘I am excited to be able to invest in the region and help build a strong paddling scene.’’

The adventure company also offers both public and private kayak and canoe tours, private guided birdwatching tours and kayak, canoe and stand-up paddleboard rentals lessons in the lagoon at Cohuna.

They will be located at Apex Park until January 14 with the possibility of extending across the summer period.
