RICH River Croquet Club saw some excellent association croquet when the Goulburn Valley Croquet Association held its championships at Rich River last week.
Rich River’s Kenn Boal took out division one, the division two winner was Lyle Carey from Mooroopna, division three was won by John Alstin of Echuca Moama and Wendy Webster of Nagambie won division four.
Trophies were presented by Trish Newman, region president of the Goulburn Valley Croquet Association.
The four winners now progress to the State Championships at Yarrawonga.
In club croquet on Thursday, March 22, a total of 11 people played doubles with one trio.
The winner was Kaye Joyce who won all three of her games.
Five players won two games each, and Helen Brierley was declared the runner up on hoops won.
A group of 11 people again played on Tuesday 27 March.
The winner was John Kenley and runner up was Jim Gunn, both winning three games each.
Gwen Hurst scored a hoop in one.
On Thursday last week, 10 people played two doubles and one singles.
Ian Grant won the day with Russell Smyth runner up.
Ian Grant scored two hoops in one and Bev Floyd scored one.
