The GVCA Golf Croquet Championships were held in Shepparton on Thursday, April 5.
Russell Smyth, Ruth Mole and Graham Richards represented Rich River.
In division one, Russell was runner-up to Darren McLoughlin of Deniliquin, with Trevor Peters of Echuca-Moama only one hoop behind.
In division two, Ruth was in third place, only two hoops behind Beryl Ash of Echuca-Moama.
The winner was Cameron Kelly of Kyabram.
Graham worked hard all day in division three, playing an impressive seven games, but he didn’t finish in the top three.
The winner was Ian Grose of Shepparton, and the runner-up was Jason Threlfall of Mooroopna.
Five Rich River members joined teams from around the state and Deni to make over 50 players enjoying good competition and friendly rivalry at Numurkah’s social day on Tuesday, April 10.
Helen Brierley played well all day, winning division two.
In club play on Tuesday, April 3, Margie Seelenmeyer starred, beating 18 others at singles by winning all three of her games.
Eight players scored two games each and Jim Gunn was declared runner-up with the best aggregate score.
Ten members played doubles on Thursday, April 5.
Ian Grant was the winner and Annette Cumming was runner-up, both winning three games, but Ian ahead by one hoop.
A total of 11 members played on Tuesday this week.
Maree Hodgins was the only player to win all three games.
Runner up was Lois Simon with the best aggregate score of the five people who won two games each.

Just before Easter our club hosted a social day with 10 members of the Traralgon Croquet Club coming to play.
Four games of doubles were played, two in the morning then stopping for a nice barbeque lunch, the other two games after lunch.
Traralgon got the jump on us and played some really good croquet with quite a few jump shots happening.
Greg Middleton from Traralgon was the winner of the day, winning all of his four games.
Echuca club would like to welcome six new members to our club, some playing in the social day against Traralgon, they handled themselves really well.
Play resumed after the Easter break with 14 in attendance on Monday, April 9, with Beryl Ash winning the LetsDo Coffee voucher and Vince Jessen the runner up.
Shepparton Croquet Club hosted the GV Championships last week, our representitives were Vince Jessen, Beryl Ash and Trevor Peters, they played well against tough opposition.
Beryl Ash, runner-up in her division, lost by two hoops.
Our club is looking forward to our social day on Friday, April 20, with 14 clubs entering.
Club president John Alstin is representing the Goulburn Valley Croquet Association in the Victorian regional championships over a three day tournament in Yarrawonga next week, we wish him well.
Our members will compete in the captains challenge on April 23 and 27.
