TWO rounds in, 12 goals down.

It’s looking like another big season for Leitchville-Gunbower’s star forward Matt Perri.

A start that Perri puts down purely to his teammates.

‘‘I have the best delivery in the competition,’’ Perri said.

‘‘When you are a forward, all you can ask is that the mids are feeding it to you and I have a group of guys who are putting it straight down my throat. It makes my job a lot easier.’’

Perri is already in blistering form for the year.

Though it’s come as a bit of a surprise to the him.

‘‘I thought I was going to be a bit rusty with my form, I only had one week between cricket ending for the year and footy starting, so I’m pretty happy with that.’’

While Perri is no stranger to the goals after breaking the ton last year, it’s not about his individual game.

It’s about a premiership.

‘‘Once you have a medal, you want another,’’ Perri said.

‘‘We tasted a flag as a club last year and we desperately want another one. I’m not counting goals or any of that, I’m just hoping I can do my part to get us to that day again.’’
