Rich River Croquet Club wishes all members, families and friends a happy new year and happy hooping in the year ahead.

The club was pleased to accept delivery of four sets of Quadway hoops shortly before Christmas.

This new style of hoop is now widely used in Australia, including Croquet Victoria headquarters in Cairnlea.

The first golf croquet club play for the year was on Thursday of last week.

A total of 16 members attended and played singles with a very close result.

There were four players with three wins each.

Russ Smyth was the winner with +11 nett hoops and there were three players with +8 hoops.

In the countback, Anne Dodd was the runner-up, with new member Greg Brierley and Ruth Mole very close behind.

Hoops in one were scored by Ruth Mole, Maree Maher, Jim Gunn and Helen Brierley.

The club had a good turnout for golf croquet on Tuesday as 17 members attended and we were pleased to welcome two visitors from Deniliquin and two from Echuca Moama Croquet Club.

Two players won all three games, and 10 won two games each.

The day’s winner was Helen Brierley on a nett hoop score of +13.

Runner-up Kaye Joyce who had a nett hoop score of +6.

There were no hoops in one.
